Product Description
A unique way to pamper the coffee lover. The 10 cup automatic grind and brew coffee maker is designed to wake you up with the smell of the freshest, most flavourful coffee imaginable -- the kind you would go to your favourite coffee bar to get. This smart coffeemaker has a built-in grinder that grinds the beans just before brewing (or push the Grind Off button to use with ground coffee). Program the machine with the number of cups you'd like and just enough water will be delivered to extract all of the good flavour and none of the bitterness. The double-wall insulated thermal carafe will keep the coffee hot for hours. A variety of adjustable features makes this the ultimate user-friendly coffee maker. A 24-hour fully programmable timer guarantees delicious, fresh-brewed coffee just when you want it. The handy Brew Pause feature lets you enjoy a cup of coffee before brewing has finished. An automatic shut-off control turns the coffee maker off right after brewing or up to 4 hours later. A "1 - 4 cups" setting provides full flavour when brewing just a few cups. A charcoal water filter removes impurities from the water before brewing. A separate grinder chamber and filter area make for easy cleanup. Includes a permanent gold tone filter.

Makes Great Coffee! (2010-01-17)
We've had this coffeepot for 3 years. The built in grinder - where you grind and perk by pushing one button, is terrific, and of course we can really tell the difference using fresh ground coffee beans. I like using fresh French Roasted beans, and programming it to start just before I awaken. We've never had any problem with it. The charcoal water filters are expensive, and you have to clean out the coffee grinder each time you use it, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Good Coffee but hassle cleaning! (2010-01-08)
all in all this is a good machine. makes great coffee and taste really good but you do have to clean it every time you want a new batch of coffee. and most of the time you cant drink leftovers because the coffee in the carafe is already cold.... in order to have leftover coffee later you have to pour hot water in the carafe before making your brew and let stand for about ten minutes the pour out and make your coffee. leftovers will only last like 2 hours hot. yah other than all that the coffee is good.... already spent the money on it were going to live with it.

Mixed feelings (2009-10-24)
I've used this coffee maker for the last 2 years and *mostly* liked the features and contemplated buying a new model to replace my current model which is having worsening issues with filter basket mechanism (hoping the following complaints may have been fixed or idiosyncratic to my unit). The basket required a hefty shove to click so it won't pop out during brewing. This is one of the worse features about the design--every so often the basket pops out during brewing and, say you are in the shower while brewing, you come out to a horrifying mess.
Strangely, my carafe also leaks from the top when I pour. Even without the top screwed in. So smaller messes on regular basis. Finally, as others note, the unit *requires* cleaning every time. The build up of grinds is such that you can't really get away with skipping a cleaning. In fact, I took to drying the bean grinder compartment before use as, when it is damp or wet, more grinds stick to the walls of the grinding compartment (wasting coffee and making the next clean up a little messier).
I have been pleased with the all-in-one aspect of the coffee maker, the quality of the coffee has never been a problem, and thermal carafes are the only way to go as far as I can see. I just went with a Zojirushi maker with a thermal carafe and find that it retains heat better/longer than this make (and doesn't spill!).
