Best Coffee Maker EVER (2009-02-12)
We bought this coffeemaker based on the Consumers Report ratings and we weren't disappointed! Great Coffee!
Works great and good value (2009-02-11)
Brews good coffee, easy to use, and is nice looking. I remember reading a review about the "beep" and how supposedly piercingly loud it was. There is a beep when the coffee is ready and another when it is turning itself off, but it is FINE for regular people with less than canine hearing. I have two complaints though- design features. You can only take the gold filter portion out of the machine to clean and not the cup that the filter sits in. Not a huge issue, but I like to clean that part too (so I just wipe it out with some vinegar and a paper towel.) Also, the lid to the carafe is a bit hard to clean (around the top where the coffee drips in.) Again, not a huge issue, but could have been made easier. Overall, we love this pot and our coffee.

Pretty good coffee maker (2008-12-16)
I purchased the DCC-1200 white coffee maker. So far this seems to be a pretty good coffee maker. I like the fact that the filter basket is black even though I purchaced the white model. The black basket hides stains. My previous white coffee maker developed coffee stains in the filter basket. The timer is very reliable and convenient. The adjustable hot plate temperature may not seem important to some but is actually a very nice feature. I keep it on high if I am making coffee for my thermos to go to work because I want the coffee as hot as possible. However, if I'm making coffee that may stay in the carafe for a period of time, the medium or low setting is prefered in order to not give the coffee a burnt aroma after a while. My only complaint is the design of the top lid. It is a flip top with a hing in the back. When I lift the lid to dump the filter basket after brewing a pot of coffee, moisture and coffee residue that has collected under the lid drains back into the resevior. I know this coffee maker comes with a water filter; however, I filter my own water and choose not to buy the replacement filters. It would be nice if it were designed to prevent coffee residue from trickling into the resevoir.
Great coffee - easy directions (2008-10-15)
Read lots of reviews for this product. Wanted one in 12 cup - white and found it at Amazon. Be careful of the model number. Many of these products look alike but have slightly different features.
