easy cleaning (2008-02-09)
an easy way to clean your coffee/spice grinder: put a small peice of bread in it (about a 1/4 slice) and pulse a few times then dump it out...and you're done:)
Keeps going and going (2007-12-02)
I've had this exact grinder for about 7 or 8 years and have never had a problem with it. I'm looking at one now to give as a Christmas gift. No complaints here.
Review of Mr. Coffee Grinder (2006-10-28)
I purchased this as a replacement for a friend's (which I dropped and broke). It's an adequate grinder, but not top of the line. The ground coffee particles range in size from powder to fairly big chunks. It gets the job done, but I'd consider spending the money for a better one with plate grinders rather than the food-processor-type blades. It's also difficult to clean.
Great Little Grinder Seven Years and Counting (2006-05-02)
This amazing little blade grinder has been crushing up our beans now for seven years and counting! They should have called it the Energizer ... it just keeps grinding, and grinding, and grinding ....
No bells and whistles, just plug it in, fill it with beans, put on the lid, push down on the button, count to ten, turn upside down filling lid with grounds, dump grounds from lid to coffee maker basket, replace lid, put back in cupboard 'til tomorrow morning.
If you need more from your grinder, don't look here, because that's all there is to it. But if you just need to make great coffee every morning, and need a reliable grinder at a great price, this is the one you are looking for.
Put me down as one fully satisfied customer.
Good for grinding spices, but hard to clean! (2006-03-27)
I asked for a spice grinder for Christmas, and recieved this. I was a little wary of it at first, but it has worked well grinding spices and dried herbs so far (I have never used it to grind coffee). I have only used it several times, so I don't know how durable it is. I was concerned that the plastic would absorb the odors of the spices, but I store it without the clear lid to air it out, and that seems to work. My only complaint with it is that it is a pain to clean! The lid is easily washed by hand, but the grinder cannot be immersed in water, so it's a bit difficult. I have ended up using my fingers to wipe most of the spice residue out, and then I use a damp paper towel to get the rest. Thankfully there aren't TOO many crevices. So if it were easier to clean, or if you could at least remove the blade to clean it, then I would give it five stars.
UPDATE 12/2/06: This is great for grinding small amounts of flax seeds as well. Much more fresh that way than buying preground seeds. Also good for grinding oats for oat flour when a recipe calls for small amounts.
